PLEASE NOTE THIS GRIPPING AID IS FOR THOSE WITH FINGERS/HAND PARTS MISSING ONLY
Durable and versatile
The Active Hands Limb Difference gripping aid is designed for those with a limb difference affecting their hands or fingers, whether it be a congenital or acquired difference. This gripping aid is perfect for those who have some or all of their fingers/parts of their hand missing. At least some widening at the wrist (as an anchor point) is required to make the gripping aid work.
The Limb difference aid can be used for: accessing equipment in the gym (including weightlifting), working in the kitchen or garden, holding bike handlebars or rowing or kayaking. They are strong enough to be used for weight lifting.
How Limb Difference Aids Work
The Limb Difference aid has a double-strap system, once the wrist section is strapped, the user affixes the item in the palm using the inner velcro strap. Thus, the user can hold the item firmly in place using the longer strap that comes over the back of the hand, through the buckle and back over the object.
Choose The Right One For You
Limb Difference Aids are available in left or right and you will need to purchase the correct aid.
There are three sizes of Limb Difference aid - select the one that best matches your wrist and hand size. See the size guide below to find out which size is best for you. If you have most of your fingers you may find that the General Purpose Gripping Aid would suit you better.
Instructions showing how to put on your Limb Difference aid can be found here.
Made of Strong Stuff
Active Hands aids are both kind to the skin and made to last. Built from tough webbing and comfortable but durable neoprene (wet suit material) they’re designed to withstand regular use, even for strenuous activities. All aids are machine washable!
A = circumference of narrowest part of wrist
Small: | 120mm – 155mm | 4.7″-6.1″ |
Standard: | 135mm – 170mm | 5.3″-6.7″ |
Large: | 150mm – 220mm | 5.9″-8.7″ |
The wrist size guide will give you the best fit for your wrist, but there is some overlap in the sizing. The hand straps increase in length as the wrist size increases, so if you have a small hand part then you may wish to try a smaller size.
